Kinetic Horizon
Fluorescent tubes (various colour temperatures and sizes) exposed wires
Drawing a visible line, exposing pulses of electricity emitting waves of light. Drawing a conceptual line from the horizon to the shore, exposing the compression and formation of a wave as it nears land. Drawing a perceptual line from the horizon to the mind, exposing compression and formation as it takes shape nearing the body.
KINETIC HORIZON
Tract II, Margaret Lawrence Gallery 2011
Kinetic light installation, durotran photograph with lightbox, single-channel video
Kinetic Horizon is a series of conceptual light-related works experimenting with optical perception of various waves of light, exposing pulses of fluorescent, photographic and video projection. The electrical circuitry have been intervened and to amplify visible, flux, and flow, exposing the infrastructure of wires and transformers and methods of making. Photographic experiments involve exposing chemical strata to extreme light, temperatures and atmospheres to form abstraction.
